For this project, you will research a career in the arts.  The format of your project will be . . . 

 

Page 1   Identify and describe the career you are researching   (e.g. architect)

Page 2   Choose a significant person in that field and research his/her career.

               Provide information about his/her career.  (e.g. Frank Lloyd Wright)

Artist Biography

Day 1: Research the biography of your artist.  When was he/she born?  If the artist is not living, when did he/she die?  Where was the artist born? Educated? When did the artist produce work?  Were there any significant events in the artist life?

Day 2: Find an image that is representative of the artist's style and paste it into a word document. 

Include a credit line for the image.  Credit line include this information in this order:

  • Name of the artist
  • Title of the work in italics.
  • Year the work was created
  • Medium used
  • Size of the work (Dimensions)
  • Location of the work (museum or gallery)

Critique the art (image) using the four-step critique process CS8 (Description, analysis, interpretation, judgement)

Day 3: Put the information that you gathered on days 1 and 2 in a formal, MLA formatted research report.  Info on MLA format can be found here
