SFHS Sports Medicine Competition

Four of our SCA (Sports Career Academy) students competed in the St. Francis High School Sports Medicine Competition on March 3 and 4.  Laguna Creek did a great job and won the “Character and Teamwork” Award! Our students were recognized for their respectful and positive attitude. We were told that they represented our school well and worked well as a team! Congratulations to Ahtziri Rangel, Kimberly Gutierrez, Alyssa Dizon, Nia Morris.  

Superintendent's Art Contest Winner!!

Laguna Creek High School Senior, Lesley Soto, won First Place in the 3-D Art category of the 2016-17 EGUSD Superintendent's Art Contest.  Her piece is titled, "La Catrina" and her inspiration was her work in organizing this year's Day of the Dead celebration.  She celebrated her win with her Ceramics Teacher, Mr. Santana.

Cardinals Start Season with No-No!

Laguna Creek's Varsity Baseball team started the season off on Saturday with an 8-0 win over Rosemont. Junior pitcher, Zach Pierce, pitched a complete game no-hitter.  He came within one walk and an infield throwing error of a perfect game!  Way to go Cardinals!!

Boys' Tennis Wins BOSS Tournament

Our Boys' tennis team brought their “A” game last Friday & Saturday!

 

We were participants in the 2017 Best of Sacramento Showcase Tennis Tournament. It had 24 teams participate, the most ever. There were 3 brackets of 8 teams. This year we were put in the Elite Bracket with Franklin (of EG), Oak Ridge, Rocklin, Bella Vista, Rio Americano, Manteca and Vista Del Lago. Some “Big Hitters” in the world of local boys tennis.

 

Round 1, Friday: We hosted Manteca, exciting match, defeated them 5-4

Round 2, Saturday at 9:00 AM at Rocklin HS: Played Rocklin  and Defeated them 8-1

Round 3, Saturday at approximately 12:00 at Rocklin HS: Played Oak Ridge for the championship and defeated them 5-4 to win the Elite Bracket! Cardinal Pride!
