As a school, we want to encourage all of our parents/guardians to volunteer. Just as with students, parents that are connected in some way to the school are more informed and their students are more successful. We take the safety of our students very seriously and when someone wishes to volunteer on campus we ask that they take the following steps:
- Fill out a Volunteer Application which can be found in our Main Office or online under the “Parents” dropdown menu.
- Turn in the Volunteer Application to our Vice Principal Secretary and schedule a meeting with one of our VP's to discuss volunteer protocols and gain approval.
Once approved, we ask that all of our volunteers be fingerprinted. Volunteers who work with students without direct supervision by a district employee must submit their fingerprints for a criminal background check. As large as our campus is, it is difficult to ensure that a volunteer is continuously under the supervision of a staff member; therefore we require all volunteers adhere to this requirement. We realize this requirement may be different than your experience at prior schools but we have chosen to error on the side of caution for the safety of our students. Fingerprints for volunteers can be taken, free of charge, at the EGUSD Robert L. Trigg Education Center, 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Room 104 at the following times:
- Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30-10:30 a.m.
- Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Once we receive fingerprint clearance, the volunteer will be notified and they will be immediately cleared to volunteer. We look forward to working with our parent and community volunteers to make great things possible for our students.
